First off, I would like to thank the Guelph Budokan and Sensei Mark Matthews for a successful set of seminars and tournament in Guelph to honour our Master's 70th birthday. Also a big thank you to all that helped make YAGI Sensei's Canada tour a great success, including all the Dojo directors, volenteers, and of course you, the students! Looking forward to seeing you all in Okinawa in 2017 to celebrate YAGI Sensei's 73rd birthday.

Our Dojo recently took home lots of hardware from the 2014 IMGKA Canadian Championships. The highlight was the blackbelt division with our Dojo taking gold and bronze; Tony Gao (gold) with a well performed Sanseryu and Richard Xu (bronze) performing Sepai. We also took gold in adult team kata (Elizabeth Lee, Sophia Tweel and Sophia Vickerson), the Men also placed in the Medals for team kata, Bronze (Richard Xu, Ryan McIntosh, richard Banks, Matt MacPhee, Tony Gao), Ronnie Myers took bronze in semior men's weapons, Ryan McIntosh took bronze in Adult Brown Belt Kata, Elizibeth Lee placed Silver for Adult Green Belt Kata, Sophia Vickerson took Silver in Adult Blue Belt Kata, Olivia Vickerson placed Silver in kids Green belt Kata. Olivia also took Bronze with Lucas and Hanna Thompsen in Kids team Kata and Lucas Thompsen placed Silver in Kids Orange Belt Kata............Job well done folks.

It has been a very busy summer for our Dojo members, with that said, the next important event for us is our annual summer camp held in Cymbria. August 1 to 3 is the date for the camp, and this year marks #26. All I can say to that is where did the past year go?

The Dojo would like to Congratulate Patrick Power and Ronnie Myers on their recent IMGKA dan promotion. Patrick was promoted to Sandan and Ronnie Myers to Yondan. Patrick has been training since 1997 and Ronnie, since 1990.
