The Shodo, "Mi Wa Toki Ni Shitagai Hen Ni Ozu" reads in English, "Adapt to all changing conditions." Another interpretation is "Act in accordance to time and change."

This practice is essential to all who study Karate-do. A Karateka must always be aware of their surroundings (both in or out of the Dojo) and be able to react quickly to sudden changes in their given environment.
