On February 7th, 2003 the Karate World lost one of its most senior members. Dai Sensei YAGI Meitoku was a gentleman Master for he did not teach how to fight but rather how not to fight. His Grand Father introduced him to the Famous MIYAGI Chojun Sensei at 12 years of age - and from there his path in Martial Arts began. Upon the passing of MIYAGI Chojun Sensei in 1953, Dai Sensei became the true successor of the Goju-ryu style of Karate. A short time later he renamed his interpretation of his teachers method to Meibukan Goju-ryu meaning the House of study for the pure minded warrior who follows the teachings of both give and take.

Dai Sensei did not seek fame or promote himself, he did not seek for students, it was the students who would seek him. He did not have to advertise as he believed in the teachings of Ryu Su Fu Sen Kyo (Running water in a stream faces no barriers) which meant that if you were a good person, through word of mouth people would find you.

For those who were fortunate enough to train in one of Dai Sensei's classes, no price could ever be put on those memories.

May he rest in Peace
