Grand Master Meitoku Yagi 100th Anniversary Event -Vol1―

 

IMGKA Grand Master Meitoku Yagithe founder of Meibukan was the successor to Miyagi Chojun Sensei. Miyagi Chojun Sensei is the founder of Okinawa Traditional Karate Do Gojyu Ryu.  Meitoku Yagi Sensei has done a great achievement for the spread and development of the Gojyu Karate. Meitoku Sensei died at 92 years old on February 7, 2003. He was born on March 6, 1912 and this day in 2012 will mark the 100th year since his birth. As you are all aware, we are planning an IMGKA Karate Tournament and IMGKA Karate Demonstration from March 1 to March 6 in 2012 as an Anniversary Ceremonial Event.

Thursday, March 1

   10:00 to 12:00 - Seminar 1 (3,000 yen/seminar or 10,000 yen for all four)

14:00 to 16:00 - Seminar 2

 

 

Friday, March 2

09:30 to 11:30 - Seminar 3

13:00 to 15:00 - Seminar 4

 15:15 to 16:45 - Promotion Test     (standard test fees apply)

               

 

Saturday, March 3

09:00 to 16:00: IMGKA Kata Tournament

Each participant must pay 3,000 yen per entry. Every subsequent entry is also 3,000 yen.

Children’s group Kata is also 3,000 yen per each participant.

Spectators will have free admission.

 

 

Sunday, March 4

10:00 to 16:00: IMGKA Kata Demonstration

18:30 to 21:00: Social gathering (fee to be announced at a later date)                                                         

 

 

Monday, March 5: International Joint Lessons begin nightly from 19:30 to 21:00 until           

March 19th (Participation fee: 4,000 yen for two weeks for members and 6,000 yen for two weeks for non-members)

 

 

Tuesday, March 6: Visit to Graveyard

        13:00 –15:00 IMGKA Directors Meeting

      15:00 – 17:00 Symposium (free admission)

 

 

 

Wednesday, March 7: Sight-seeing, golf, fishing etc

a.       Naha City Monorail "Yui Rail":

Get off at the “Kencho-mae station”, the sixth station from Naha Airport.  Our dojo is approximately a 5 minutes’ walk from the station.

It takes about 13 minutes from the airport to the Kencho-mae station and the fare is 260 yen.

b.       Taxi:

It will take around 10 minutes from the airport to your designated hotel in downtown Naha. The taxi fare is about 1,000 yen with 3 to 4 passengers on board.

1,500 yen per night/person with 3 to 8 people staying in the room

c. Twin room

The rate of twin room is 2,500 yen/night; however, it is 11,000 yen for 7 nights with a discounted rate.

Shower rooms and toilet facilities will be shared with guests staying in the hotel. Each room is equipped with TV.  Air-conditioner is available for \200/hour. Towel set is 200 yen. Washing machine is \200/each use. The hair dryer is available for free at the front.

Room charge is available from \1500 /person and up. The room charge of \1500/person is applied when the room is shared by a group of 3 to 8 people. No meals included.

Single room\2,500/night. If rented for a week (7 nights), the total room charge will be \15,000. For one-month rent, the total room charge will be \55,000/person. The room is equipped with shower, toilet, TV, air conditioner, refrigerator and towel set. Coin laundry is also available.

Commemorative Event Book

 

We are preparing a commemorative book to honour this historic event. We ask that all dojos submit their dojo information to advertise their respective dojos for a fundraising charge of 10,000 yen per dojo. The information to be listed is: name of the dojo, dojo owner, photo of dojo owner (head shot), phone number, fax number, web site and e-mail address.  Please email the above information to Mr. Hiroaki Kinjo at kokusai@herb.ocn.ne.jp. This email is shared so it is imperative that you write in the subject line of the email, “To Mr. Hiroaki Kinjo for IMGKA.” If you do not write this information, your email may not be received. This information is to be submitted no later than November 30, 2011.

 

 

Payment Policy

 

All monies are to be paid in full, in yen, upon arrival in Okinawa. In Volume 2 of this correspondence, we will be providing a payment calculation sheet to be submitted with a copy of your application sheet upon your arrival.
